EAGLE-PICHER HILLSDALE DIVISION RECEIVES HONDA SUPPLIER AWARD AT SPECIAL CEREMONY


INKSTER, Mich., July 5, 2002 — Eagle-Picher's Hillsdale Division, Traverse City facility, has been awarded a Quality Performance award given by Honda. This Honda award recognizes suppliers each year during Honda's supplier conference for outstanding performance in the previous 12 months.

"Eagle-Picher works hard to benefit customers and greatly values this recognition from Honda," said Bob Berberich, plant manager at Eagle-Picher's Traverse City facility. "It's important to recognize all of the people involved in a special achievement so those who helped earn the recognition can share the satisfaction together."

Eagle-Picher Hillsdale Division achieved this award for Honda products produced at Eagle-Picher's Traverse City facility. These products include damper steering forks and front and rear knuckle assemblies for the Honda Accord and Acura CL and TL automobiles and front knuckle assemblies for the Honda Civic. Eagle-Picher Hillsdale Division has been supplying parts to Honda since 1995.

Honda participated in the formal presentation ceremony at the award winning Eagle-Picher facility located in Traverse City, Mich. The award presented by Danielle Marinelli from Honda of America's Mfg.'s Purchasing Division and received by Bob Berberich on behalf of Eagle-Picher.

Honda's North American manufacturing operations began in 1979 with the start of Honda of America Mfg.'s motorcycle plant near Marysville, Ohio. Auto production began at Honda of America's Marysville auto plant in 1982 using domestic and globally sourced parts. Today, Honda of America operates a second auto plant and Honda's largest engine plant, both in Ohio. Also located in Ohio is Honda Transmission Mfg. at Russells Point. Other Honda North America divisions are Honda Manufacturing of Alabama, Honda Power Equipment Mfg. in North Carolina, Honda of South Carolina Mfg., Honda of Canada Mfg. in Alliston, Ontario and Honda de Mexico at Guadalajara, Mexico.
